Sonic Toy Land

A Virtual Interface for Musical Expression

Sonic Toy Land is a Virtual Interface for Musical Expression (VIME) that creatively combines childhood nostalgia with advanced audio technology in an immersive VR environment. Designed as a life-sized virtual playroom, the project enables users to interact with toys and arrange them to create custom musical patterns, functioning like a sequencer. By incorporating spatial audio techniques, Sonic Toy Land provides a sensory-rich experience, dynamically reflecting user interactions in an imaginative, interactive space. This project was developed in collaboration with Ayden Williams and Maddie Vassalo.

Key Features

Interactive Toy Sequencer: Users can rearrange toys on a train track to craft personalized musical patterns.

Spatial Audio: Advanced spatial audio techniques immerse users in a 3D soundscape, adding depth and realism to each interaction.

Engaging VR Interface: A user-friendly interface facilitates seamless control over the train and toy placements, enhancing the playful and interactive nature of the environment.

By merging creativity with technical precision, Sonic Toy Land transforms a virtual playroom into an engaging platform for musical exploration and user interaction.
